FITTINGS & THEIR USE
Fittings play an important role in any hydraulic system and are the parts that promote fluidity through the system by connecting hydraulic hoses and parts to valves, pumps, and other components. There are many different types of hydraulic fittings available, such as plugs, adaptors, couplings, unions, reducers, and elbows.
Hydraulic fittings are available with a male and/or female connection, which will typically join it to another component of the opposite connection – i.e. male with female. They also come in a number of different thread types, such as BSP and BSPT which dictates how they attach to components and helps to easily identify them when in need of replacement.
